Flower Soft Toppers, Winner, New Sweet Stuff AND the Great Unveiling!!!!

Happy Sunday AGAIN!!! And I hope your day has been a wonderful one because mine certainly has been!!! Also make way for a marvelous week!!!

This card is not a typical "Jacque" card but I wanted to use one of the NEW Flower Soft Toppers from the Recipe collection which will be out very soon. They are so easy and quick to use to make such a delightful card!!

I used Bazzill for the base, all double matting is PTI, the DP is strawberry gift wrap, and the topper was propped up for dimension. I added a touch of Strawberry Ultra Fine Flower Soft to give added texture to that beautiful Strawberry Shortcake. I then only added a red satin ribbon with Bow-Easy bow,a strawberry charm, tiny strawberry flowers to the top, and a few red gems. What do you think?

Yipppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee, more SWEET STUFF!!!! I would love to offer a pack of the Recipe Toppers, a jar of Strawberry Ultra Fine Flower Soft, a jar of Sage Ultra Fine Flower Soft AND a Bow-Easy for some lucky commenter!!!! Jacque's back!!!! Just please leave a comment before Wednesday, March 31 at midnight DST.

Thank you all for your visits, your sweet comments, your lovely notes and emails, and beautiful cards!!! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your support and love!! Have a beautiful week and come back soon...I may not get balder but we might have more fun!!! BIG HUGS!!!!!

Happy Sunday!!

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope that you are having a splendid weekend and I personally am looking forward to a magnificent week!!! I have received many notes regarding my absence and I would love to share with all of my friends here that a horrible week befell me this past week.

At 3:30 AM on Monday I had a call from the Life Care Center that my Dad had peacefully slipped away...so my sincere thanks to each of you who had him in your thoughts and care. He opened his eyes one last time to tell my Mom, "Hi Honey" and after she went back to her room he passed peacefully shortly afterwards. What a blessing that we no longer have to see him suffer the demons that befell him with the Advanced Alzheimers. At 7:30 that same morning I had to leave for the 5 1/2 hour chemotherapy session which was no picnic this time. And on Tuesday I had to have the dragon shot which again was a real eye-opener!!! The remainder of the week I planned the US Navy service that Dad had requested...not easy since we are in a land-locked area. But through our US Congressman, everything came together, buglers, gun detail, US Navy Chaplain, US Navy flag detail, a lovely honor guard, and about 100 Vietnam veteran flag bearers from all over NC, SC, GA, VA, etc. He would have been so proud of the way we finally released the Eagle to sail the skies for his Last Sail. The Life Care Center brought my Mom and she handled everything with such dignity and grace...and of course afterwards, my Dad had left money for everyone to go out for a nice lunch...which is what we did...Even Mom participated. Please keep my Mom in your thoughts as it has been very difficult for her to lose the love of her life after 63 years. For those of you who would like to check out the obituary I wrote for my dad you can go HERE and click on Jack Lancaster on the right.

For those of you who have asked here is the tribute I wrote for my Dad's Service; and hopefully this will give you a little peek into his daughter also...smile

TRIBUTE TO DAD AND POPS
BY
Jacque and Stan

We are both so appreciative of the many lessons you inculcated in us and hopefully we have lived up to your every expectation. Your obituary says you were a "sailor's sailor", likewise we were taught by your example, to care for those less fortunate than we are. We appreciate your care and concern for the downtrodden and those in distress and hopefully we will remember the responsibility your example taught us. You gave us the charge to be responsible, honest citizens, knowing the difference between right and wrong, with more concern for others than ourselves--hopefully we both exemplify that teaching. Doing for others without any demands or expectations that others do for us. You taught us that no matter what misfortunes befall us, that there are always those less fortunate. We shall never forget. You taught us the love of knowledge and pointed out the many doors such knowledge would open for us. You taught us a love of country, a genuine respect for her, and an unwavering patriotism. Although the demons of Vietnam were so painful to you as the advanced Alzheimers took over your body, we still know you taught us, my country, right or wrong, my country.

Now that you fly with the eagles on high, watching over all of us, doing what you can to the continue insuring our freedoms, please know that we will always take good care of our Mom, will honor, cherish, love and respect her, not because you asked us to do so in your last breaths but because you taught us to.

Thanks Dad and Pops!!

Sail Away, sweetly in our memory!!

Now I can report to you that this round of chemo has not been the best BUT I don't know how much is the chemo and how much is because of all the other bumps in the road...I am already feeling MUCH MUCH better so lets just hope that things are going GREAT GUNS!!!! Thank you so much for your sweet notes, emails, and lovely cards...they have brightened my each and every day!!! With great big hugs for each of you!!!

I will be back a bit later today with the last Winner...and will have some new Sweet Stuff up real soon!!!!

Tulip Tilda at Just Magnolia and a Wee Bit of Sweet Stuff!!

Happy Day everyone and welcome to your weekend, wherever you may be!! I hope your weekend is starting off with a bang and will be most enjoyable!

This week over at Just Magnolia the Design Team was asked to make an easel card and of course the constant requirement is to use at least one Magnolia stamp on our cards. I hope all of you Maggie lovers will join us this week in showing us your easel card using at least one of your Maggies!!!

For my DT Sample Card, I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is the cute cute cute For Peep's Sake-Hot Chicks by Imaginisce. Thank you so much, Suzan, for finding this precious Easter paper for me!! The DP is so darling that I decided to use only the one layer on my card so that the chicks and bunnies and tulips could be seen!! Both major panels were machine stitched. Tulip Tilda from Magnolia-licious was stamped twice on Cryogen White and I cut out one of the images (minus the tulip) to prop up for dimension and she was colored with Copics. The ribbon is PTI and the bows are made with the Bow-Easy. I added a little Easter Basket charm to the front panel bow...notice that I colored the ribbon on the charm with Copics to match the peach color of the DP. The yellow roses in 2 sizes were added on MS punched fronds. Finally I added the Magnolia Happy Easter Squiggly from the Easter 2009 Collection and yellow pearls to soften all corners.

And Now for a touch of SWEET STUFF!!!!

So many of you have asked me about my bows and organza ribbon that I wanted to share with you a little bit of Sweet Stuff from my stash. I CANNOT make a bow without the Bow-Easy...this is the best miracle tool ever made!!! I also have an extra little Tilda like I used on my card that is a part of this little package...so here ya go....

1 Bow-Easy
1 yard of each of the 29 colors of organza ribbon I have in my stash
1 Tulip Tilda

All I am asking that you do in order to be eligible for the Sweet Stuff is to leave a comment and make sure all of your Maggie lover friends know about it so they can come try for it. The cut-off for comments will be Monday, March 22 at Noon DST. Good Luck!!

Thank you so much for dropping by today to see my little creation! I appreciate your visit very much and love to read what you have to say!! Please come back often to see me! Have a magnificent weekend!! Big Maggie hugs from me to you!!

My sincere thanks and appreciation to the professionals with the local Hospice and the Life Care Center where both my Mom and Dad are residing!! My thanks to each of you also for your concerns and continuing support...Hugs!!!!

Please visit Carole and share a bit of smooches with her...you will be amazed at the beauty of her cards and the talent she always demonstrates on her cards!!! I stamped this little cutie twice on Cryogen White and cut out one image to prop up on dimensionals...they were colored with Copics and a touch of Shimmerz (thanks, Claudia for the sweet gift and for the introduction to Shimmerz). I used tiny satin ribbons for the horizontals and added a Bow-Easy bow, a few flowers, and a dangling Easter Basket charm. I hope you like my interpretation of Claudia's magnificent sketch!! What's New at Just Magnolia? Winners!! Sweet Stuff!!

Happy Saturday and a wonderful weekend to all of you!! Gosh it feels like spring here today and nobody is happier than I am about it!! We had rain yesterday and FINALLY all the snow from December is washed away!! Yippppeeee!! Thank heavens we have warm weather just in time for my bald head!! LOL I don't have to be concerned about having a "bad hair day" any time soon...smile So many of you have asked how I am doing that I am happy to report that I am now feeling GREAT and expect to have a marvelous week before my next chemo on the 22nd....talk about "making hay while the sun shines"...this is living by a schedule!!! hahahahha

I wanted to show you my DT Sample Card for Just Magnolia this week where we have a wonderful sketch by the magnificently talented and creative Bev Rochester of All The Things I Love. We would love for you to come over and join with us this week in using this fun sketch! The only requirement is to use a Magnolia stamp when making the sketch and you will find that a lovely prize is being offered this week.

I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is all from the My Mind's Eye Home Glitter Book. All background panels are machine stitched. Little Love News Tilda from Magnolia-licious was stamped twice on Cryogen White, colored with Copics, and one of the images was cut out and propped up for dimension. This cute little Maggie can certainly be used for all kinds of occasions and news announcements. The wide lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the inserted ribbon is PTI. The green Cherry Blossoms are Magnolia and the peach roses are WOC also...and all the flowers were Stickled and Shimmerzed to match the glitter of the papers. Finally light green pearls soften the corners.

For the inside, just a bit more of the lace and ribbon, a dangle flower charm, a small bouquet of the same flowers for the jotting spot, and smaller pearls on all the corners. I'm sorry that my photography is not so good because these papers have such a pretty glittery look that is not captured in the pictures.

And now for the WINNERS...First my sincere thanks to everyone who drops by to visit me...it is such a joy to read your sweet and kind comments! I wish I could send Sweet Stuff to all of you and I am trying my best. Let's see where these packages are going...

Happy Friday!! I hope you have had a magnificent week and are making preparations for a splendid weekend!! I know I am for sure!!

I am really excited because this is my week to host over at Friday Sketchers Week 93 and I hope every single one of you will drop by and check out my sketch for the week, will look at the lovely DT Sample Cards, and will join in with us so I can see YOUR interpretation of my sketch!! Many thanks to Irina at La-La Land Crafts for sponsoring my week! She is providing a very nice prize for those of you who participate this week.

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, PTI for all matting, and DCWV Glitter Paper Pack which was a gift from the sweet and talented Suzan. Just love them, Sweetie!! All background panels were machine stitched. Rose Edwin from Magnolia-licious was stamped on cryogen white twice and one was cut out to prop up on dimensional tape. The images were colored with Copics, with Shimmerz added to the rose. I also added organza ribbon and bow with dangling rose leaves, as well as a flower treatment at the bottom left and tiny rose buds at the top right. I finished the front with pearls on the corners.

For the inside of the card I used the same sketch for the first panel...this time using that darling Doggy Wilma with a rose in her mouth...I think she is just precious!! She is so cute that it looks like she may be sold out over at Magnolia-licious but if you would like to have her, just send an email to Diana and I know she will try to make you happy!!! I stamped her on Cryogen White also and cut out one of the images to prop up...adding Shimmerz to the bow and rose. I also grounded her with Flower Soft and let several tiny rose buds grow around her. Finally I added more tiny rose buds to the jotting spot.

I hope you like my little creation and will want to try your hand at the sketch. Please visit the other DT members and check out their magnificent interpretations of my sketch:

Purr-fectly Flower Soft Blog Hop

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I hope your week is going exceptionally well!! I am finally going great guns again...lol...and tomorrow I go for the REAL haircut...oh my, I never thought I would be able to wash my hair with a washcloth!!! lol so I will let you know how that goes!!

This is my very first time to participate in the Flower Soft Blog Hop and I am really excited that you could join me. If you have arrived here first, I hope you will go over to the Flower Soft Blog to begin the hop and make sure you become a follower of the blog so you will be eligible for some WONDERFUL Sweet Stuff this time--The Flower Soft Pastel Color Selection Box!! Our challenge was to use Flower Soft in a border so I hope you will let me know how I did for the first time!!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base and all matting and DP are from the new Basic Grey Green At Heart collection. I stamped the Moments in Time Flower Soft stamp Purr-fect on Cryogen White and colored it with Copics, adding a touch of Sage Flower Soft Ultra Fine to outline the grassy area. To make the left border I first used pink organza ribbon and topped it with green leaf ribbon. I then dipped each of the tiny pink flowers in Raspberry Fizz Ultra Fine Flower Soft to give them much more texture. Finally I added a bow and a kitty charm and pearls to soften all of the corners.

If you would like this stamp and the two colors of Ultra Fine Flower Soft that I used for this card, just leave me a comment before you move right along on the hop to visit the very talented and creative Rose Ann. Remember to make your visits and leave comments all along the way!!

Thank you so much for your visit today...I can never tell you how much I appreciate each of you! I hope you will come back often. It means so much to me that so many of you are going with me on this JOURNEY I seem to have taken!!! Big hugs for each of you!!

Dear Diary for Friday Sketchers and a touch of Sweet Stuff!!!

A very happy Monday to everyone!! I hope that your weekend was filled with lots of fun, many smiles, and much accomplishment!! This is a new day in a new week and everything is WONDERFUL!!! I keep telling that to myself...lol

Over at Friday Sketchers 92 we are being hosted this week by the fabulously talented and creative Claudia who has given us such a delightful sketch. I hope that you will wander over and join us to let us see your interpretations of Claudia's sketch. There is also a very nice prize offered from Motivet so come on over!!!!

For my DT Sample Card I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI and the DP is Webster's Pages. I machine stitched the major panel and the square panel inside the die cut for Tilda to rest in. I used that darling little Tilda Writing In Diary from the Raising the Ceiling Collection over at Magnolia-licious, colored her with Copics and propped her up on dimensional tape. I also added some bling swirls to 2 corners and for the other corners I wanted a TIME theme...so for the top, I used watch parts for a little interest and for the bottom corner I used a small watch face, tiny red ribbon, and a white feather made into a writing quill. Finally I added Wild Orchid Crafts red roses (Stickled with Diamond) to both sides of Tilda with MS punched fronds.

I hope that you will visit the other DT members and check out their magnificent interpretations of Claudia's sketch:

Swinging Monkey at Just Magnolia AND Winner!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!! I hope you have all had a delightful week and are enjoying your weekend! I have definitely been missing in action this week...lol...When the Cancer Center called on Wednesday I was feeling GREAT!!! But it was just a friendly reminder that for the next 3 days I would be hitting a wall!!!! Little did I realize that as soon as the call was over that I would hit a re-inforced concrete wall head on...but luckily, as quickly as my bones started to burn on Wednesday, this morning I feel GREAT again!!!

My card for Just Magnolia this week is definitely for me!! hahaha Hang in there, Baby!!! We were given a Tent Card tutorial by Dena and it was so much fun to play with! Thank you so much, Dena!!! I hope you will join with us this week so that you will be eligible for a very nice prize from Simon Says Stamp.

I used Bazzill for the base, PTI for all matting, and the DP is from the BG Origins. I machine stitched both the outside and inside panels before cutting out the aperture with an oval nestie. Next I encircled the opening with vine ribbon which was a lovely gift from the very talented Suzan and added tiny yellow star flowers to match the DP. For the ribbon treatment I used organza ribbon, another star flower AND what's a monkey without a bunch of bananas???? I stamped that darling Magnolia Monkey from the Pet Collection at Magnolia-licious onto Cryogen White, colored that cutie with Copics, cut him out, and used a slip ring to let him swing down through the jungle! I had never used the monkey before but now I see so many uses for him...Diana also has a Hang In There sentiment to use with him. Gosh, he could say "I am bananas over you!", and he will make an ideal little child's card. Sometimes I forget the darling accessory stamps, but this one I will NOT forget!! He is so CUTE!!!!!

Below is a better view of that cute swinging monkey...I just love him!!!

For the back of the tent card I used the same papers and added a little flower arrangement and another decorated bow to the nestie jotting spot!

Thank you all so much for dropping by to see what's happening here and I hope you will return often! I also would like to thank everyone for your thoughts, cards, prayers, emails, best wishes, surprises, etc etc... You all are just wonderful..and I appreciate you sooooooo much!! Be on the lookout this week for something that just might make you a happy camper!!!! Ladybug Tilda for the Magnolia-licious March Sketch Challenge AND a Touch of Magnolia Sweet Stuff!!

Happy Monday and Happy March to each of you!! I hope you have had a magnificent weekend, a splendid February, and are looking forward to an exceptional March!! I know I am!!! Lots of new adventures, less hair, and loads of crafting time!!!! lol

This is MY month over at Magnolia-licious to be the Design Team Member who designs the Sketch for the month of March...and I am so excited to see how many of you participate at Magnolia-licious Highlites and show me YOUR interpretation of my sketch!! You are more than welcome to rotate the sketch in any way you wish and of course you can use the panels for any purpose you wish....just be sure to use your favorite Maggie!!!! I can't wait to see them all. During this first week of the month you will also see the other DT members cards...so be on the look out!!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, PTI for all matting, and the DP is a combination of PTI dots and digital papers. I stamped little Ladybug Tilda from Magnolia-licious on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics, a bit of Spica, Diamond Stickles, and Black Soot Distress Stickles...isn't she the cutest thing??? They are called ladybirds in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Pakistan, and South Africa...but no matter what she is called, she is a cutie. She is definitely one that can be used for so many types of occasions---just a change in color and add some buttons and flowers to the antennae and staff and she can be be anything she wants!!! To complete the front I added red ball trim, a polka dot Bow-Easy bow with a flower charm dangle..what about that tiny ladybug on that flower...lol...I also added a small trail of ladybug enamel buttons at Tilda's feet and black pearls to soften the corners!!

Jacque's Recommendation:
I have been asked so many times over the past several weeks, in both comments and in emails, what I feel is the most important product in my cardmaking. I know that I don't have nearly the experience that many of you have, but I can tell you what REALLY makes all the difference in MY cards--I am a sworn addict to Scor-Tape...and I can tell you that I have tried EVERY adhesive in the book, at Michaels, at Staples, red line tape, Tombow, etc etc in all of Cyberia!!!! I use Scor-Tape (usually 1/2 inch) profusely in my cards and that is truly the secret to making my cards so substantial with layers that NEVER fall apart!! This product has 27 yards on each roll and it is also available in 1/8" and 1/4" for boxes, Scor-Pal projects, altered items, and envelo-boxes. I also use Scor-Tape for most of my embellishments and those who have received my cards will assure you that my cards are VERY substantial and they never bend or lose an embellishment where I have used this magnificent adhesive. Although I cut the product with scissors, many prefer to tear it, which also works very well. I can assure you that you will automatically see a big improvement in the permanence and stability of your cards once you use this product! Not only is it an adhesive but it is also the body of my cards. I know you probably recognize the importance I place on embellishments and frou-frou on my cards, but that is quite insignificant when compared to the value I place on Scor-Tape. It will truly be the very best $7 you will ever spend in your cardmaking endeavors...Believe me!!!

AND...Now for a wee touch of SWEET STUFF which includes my very favorite product:

1 Roll of 1/2 inch Scor-Tape
1 Ladybug Box with chocolates...yum!!
1 Ladybug Tilda stamp
1 pack of White Magnolia Cherry Blossoms

In order to be eligible for the Sweet Stuff, I am only asking that you leave a comment (only one please) and let all of your Maggie loving friends know about the Sweet Stuff on your blogs or message boards, etc. The deadline will be Thursday, March 4 at Noon EST. I may not be able to color very well at the moment, and might not be able to make such precise cuts or sew such straight lines right now, but I can try to make you all happy!!!! SMILE!!!

My sincere thanks to each of you for making my blogging experience such a SPECIAL one to me! I love reading your comments and although I am limited in my responses back to you for the moment, please know just how much I appreciate you! Please keep me in your thoughts today as I venture out into the unknown...but I will let you know real soon how it goes...Headlines: Jacque VS Gargantua.....Jacque-62...Gargantua-0.......JACQUE WINS!!!!!! Big hugs to each of you!!!!
