Hearts and Flowers at Just Magnolia...AND Some SWEET STUFF TOO!!!!

Happy Friday again everyone!!! And welcome to winter wonderland....argh!! The snow that was supposed to begin later this evening started about 5:00 and I now have several inches in my yard...and expecting about a foot OR MORE....somebody please come save me!!!!!!!!

I just couldn't wait to show you my DT card for Just Magnolia where each Friday we have a very exciting challenge blog for only Magnolia stamps!!! Sometimes it is a required sketch but this week we were asked to design a "Hearts and Flowers" card since we are being sponsored by the amazingly wonderful Wild Orchid Crafts – specialists in Mulberry paper roses, paper flowers and craft supplies. Oh My!!! I love that company!!!!

For my card I used Bazzill for the base and all matting. All of the DP is from Webster's Pages....another favorite company! I selected Loving Tilda from Magnolia-licious, stamped her on Cryogen White and colored her with Copics. I placed her inside a MM chipboard frame which I trimmed with green braid from Webster's Pages and old pearl buttons. After machine stitching all panels I added ecru lace from Webster's Pages to the side vertical and decorated the right side of the frame with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, an organza ribbon bow, and a gold Victorian heart button.

For the inside of the card, I used coordinating DP but on the first panel I somewhat altered the DP with gorgeous Stempelglede hearts and swirls which were an amazing gift from the wonderfully talented Christina. Thank you so much, sweetie!!!! The only other thing I did was add the same green trim from the front, another organza bow, and gold heart button!!

Those of you who know me well, know that my very favorite part of the blogging process is making available to you my Sweet Stuff!!! And since my time here is so limited until the phoenix arises out of the ashes...lol...I wanted to make available for you some of the papers and ribbons and flowers that I used this week as well as a couple of additions...hope you like it!!!

Hangin' In at Friday Sketchers 87

Happy Friday, Everyone!!! I hope you have all had a magnificent week!!! My week has been terrific and all because of your kind words, prayers, and best wishes!!! Gosh with so many of your thoughts right next to my heart how can I not be back full steam ahead very soon?!?!? Thank each one of you who took the time to leave me such kind and sweet words...I showed them to the doctor and PA yesterday on my Blackberry...and their response (after fainting...LOL) was to tell me they told me so....smile...But I am on countdown now...and I have my flannel PJ's and socks all ready for whatever!!! hahahah We are supposed to have a foot of snow this weekend so I might be going to the hospital on Tuesday with the Fire Department...but heck, I figure if they can rescue cats from trees, surely they can get me to Asheville to the hospital!!! hahhahah

This week at Friday Sketchers 87 we are being hosted by the magnificently talented and lovely Jeanette from Canada who has given us a lovely sketch to work with...I found that it was excellent for a larger hÄnglar & stÄnglar image that I haven't been able to use before. Thank you so much, Jeanette!!!

I used Bazzill for the card base, PTI for all matting, and all of the DP is BG Sugar Rush...such cute papers, too!!! All panels on the card were machine stitched and the image was colored with Copics. To the outside I just added several coordinating heart buttons tied with twine and made an oval nestie with computer generated sentiment which continues to the inside of the card. The last thing I added was a pair of tiny clothespins to the sentiment oval...I have been waiting forever to use those cute things!!!

For the inside of the card I just added some pink paper doilies, several pink satin Bow-Easy bows, and a heart nestie with the remainder of the sentiment!!!

Please check out all the wonderful sample cards posted by the Friday Sketchers Design team, and hopefully you will play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketchers blog where you will find that Totally Stampalicious! is sponsoring a very nice prize this week!

Friday Sketchers, Just Magnolia, Winner, More Sweet Stuff for YOU!!!

Happy Monday everyone!!! Sorry I have been so long in posting but last week was one I would like to forget!! And I am very sorry in advance if what I am going to tell you offends anyone BUT I was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer last week...so this week will be filled with scans, tests, and all of that pre-op stuff, and surgery is scheduled for February 2 with a radiation regimen afterwards! I would like to apologize for not being able to get around to visit you and your blogs because of so many time constraints with appointments, etc. BUT you all know that I will be over to see you as soon as I can!!! The good news is that it is so difficult to keep a strong woman down SO I will be here as much as I physically can!!! Ladies, please, please, please remember those mammograms for both you and your loved ones!!!!

Now on to happier stuff!!! This is my DT Sample card for Just Magnolia this week using a delightful sketch by the very talented JayJay. The DP is from K&Co and I have added a pink rhinestone heart, pink organza ribbon and gold heart buttons. This darling Cupid Tilda, colored in Copics with a touch of MS glitter on her head and Diamond Glaze on the arrows, and from Magnolia-licious is encircled with pleated grosgrain ribbon. Finally I added a Tiny Tag from SU.

This is my DT Sample card for Friday Sketchers where we are being hosted this week by Jacqueline from The Netherlands. Again I used the same DP from K&Co and added some wide heart ribbon, a little Melissa Frances frame, and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Tilda with Key from Magnolia-licious is colored with Copics and the key is highlighted with a bit of Gold Smooch. I bordered her with lace/heart trim and finished the front with heart gems on the corners.

To match this card I decorated a papier mache heart box with the same trims and added doilies, gold hearts, and a bit of ribbon and roses.

I have filled the heart box with Happy Valentines embellishments and it is ready to be mailed to some lucky commenter!! I would also appreciate it if you would invite others to drop by. Inside you will find....

Pretty In Pink Blog Hop and PINK SWEET STUFF!!!

Happy Monday and WELCOME to the Magnolia-licious Pretty In Pink Blog Hop!! I am so happy to see you!!! If you arrived here first, please start at the Magnolia-licious Highlites site to begin your merry, pink way along the hopping trail!! If you have arrived here from the marvelously talented Becca, you are on the right track!! So welcome again!!

For my card I used an absolutely darling Tilda that has not been released yet but I think she must be in the upcoming Wedding Collection which you will see very soon at Magnolia-licious...I just couldn't resist giving you a wee peek of a cutie who will be on her way soon!! I used Bazzill for the base, PTI for all matting, and the DP is a combination of MM and digitals. All panels are machine stitched and Tilda is colored with Copics and I added tiny seed pearls on her shoes.

The lace I have used on the front was hand-crocheted by my grandmother in the 1940's and I know she would be happy to see me using lace that I saved from one of her table cloths. I wove narrow pink satin ribbon through the lace before adding all of the tiny bows. I also used a pink paper lace doily and a small bouquet of pink roses as well as a ribbon treatment with heart charm for little Tilda to sit on. The front was finished with half pearls on the corners.

On the inside of the card I used more pink paper lace doilies, more satin bows, and a couple of rose charms.

To match the card I decorated a clear paint can with bits of lace, more roses, and ribbons and bows and another Tilda. I also made a couple of small gift bags adding a bit of Stickles for sparkle and a bit of lace and ribbon.

So here is a bit of SWEET STUFF for some lucky winner who leaves a comment below before Monday, January 25, at Noon EST. I would appreciate it greatly if you would mention my Sweet Stuff on your blog if you have one and also tell all of your friends about the Pretty In Pink Blog Hop!! I have filled the gift bags and paint can with pink embellishment surprises, and then there is a box of Strawberry Truffles, a set of Pink Valentine Socks, a small Pink Notebook, a Pink Mini-Organizer, a Pink Canister of Yum-Dilly S'Mores, and last (but not least) a Pink Marshmallow Lollipop!!!

Thank you so much for participating in our Magnolia-licious Pretty in Pink Blog Hop and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed preparing for your visit! Again you will find all of the instructions for the Hop over on the Magnolia-licious Highlites site! I hope you will join with us and show us your Pretty In Pink Card before January 31!!! One of the images was cut out and propped up to give more dimension. Tilda Is Anxiously Awaiting Her Valentine Mail!!

Happy Friday everyone!!!! I hope your week has been a fabulous one. Sorry I have been MIA but I have had a fried computer and just got it back today.

This is my DT Sample Card for Friday Sketchers this week and since I am hosting this week, I used MY sketch!! I hope you will hop over and let us see how you interpret my sketch!!

I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI, and the DP is Mulberry Red Hearts on White and a bit of shaped MM from last year's Valentine collection. I colored Sweetheart Tilda from Magnolia-licious with Copics, cut her out, and propped her right up on some heart/lace trim...I also added a couple of kinds of Valentines Day ribbons and made a red rose bouquet with mulberry roses and a piece of lace and tiny ribbon. To the bouquet I added a little Love Tag made with the new SU products, The front was finished with red heart buttons tied with white DMC.

Gosh!!! The mail arrived!! This is one of those little Target mailboxes that I decorated with papers, odds and ends of ribbon, and other embellies and used Dreamy Tilda on the side!! I filled it with special yummies and will send it to someone who leaves a comment below before January 17 at 8 AM EST!!

Please check out all the sample cards posted by the Design team, and hopefully you will play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog where you will find that Stamp and Create is sponsoring a very nice prize this week!

Wanna Be My Valentine at Just Magnolia???

Happy Friday evening!! And the good news is that the heating installer has promised me that there will be HEAT when he leaves my house tomorrow...of course it is now 12 degrees F and will drop to less than 10 tonight...not only do I have every heat apparatus in the house running but also the washer and dryer humming and the faucets all dripping...lolol

On a much lighter note, this is my Just Magnolia card for this week where the requirement is Paper Pleating. We were instructed by the magnificently and unbelievably talented Mina over on the Just Magnolia blog in an extremely well written and illustrated tutorial on how to perform this technique. Thank you so much, Mina, for the excellent tutorial! I sincerely hope that all of you will join us and show us your interpretation of paper pleating!!! Please let me say that I did all of my pleating using the miracle machine (smile) Scor-Pal!!! I would never have attempted the precise folds without the Scor-Pal....this made it so much easier to fold to my exact measurements!!!! AND the pleats held so securely with Scor-Tape...reminds me that I better call Diana, because I am almost out YET again...lolol

For my card I used Bazzill for the base, all double matting is PTI, and the DP is from MM Love Notes and the dots are 3ndypapir.no. I used the darling Valentine Tilda from the 2009 Collection from Magnolia-licious and colored her with Copics. The base panels are machine stitched and I added some trim with red cherry blossoms, a couple of heart pins, some very narrow satin ribbon and bows for Tilda to sit on and finally a heart gem to match the hearts at the bottom of her dress...

The inside uses the same papers as the front, a grosgrain ribbon and slide on the first panel, and a satin ribbon with heart charm for the jotting spot. I also made a coordinating canister using the same trims and filled it with yummy chocolate truffles for some lucky winner!! All you have to do is leave a comment and a winner will be selected on Monday, January 11, at noon EDT

Thank you so much for dropping by to see what's happening in my Magnolia world!!! I hope you will come back often!! I hope your world tonight is a bit warmer than mine is...lol...Great big Maggie hugs for everyone!!!!

Beary Big Hugs for Friday Sketchers 84

Happy Friday everyone and thank you so much for dropping by! If my coloring looks a little bit jerky today it's because we have had single digit weather and I have had NO heating system for a week...so I have been close at home running the gas fireplace and everything else I could find that makes heat...lol..They are supposed to put in a new heating system tomorrow so PLEASE keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

Today is the first Friday Sketchers posting of the New Year so we hope you will come over and join us this week. We are being hosted this week by the unbelievably talented and creative Claudia who has designed for us quite a challenging sketch.

I used Bazzill for the base, all matting is PTI and the DP is from the BG Sugar Rush collection and PTI dots. All panels are machine stitched and I used the very darling Beary Big Hugs from the Sweet Things Collection over at the Belles 'n Whistles shop. The image was colored with Copics and placed on Nesties for the centerpiece of the front. I used a wide satin heart ribbon for the horizontal and the bottom flower treatment is merely red tulle, red cherry blossoms from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a couple of heart pins from Crafty Feeling. I also added a small clay bear in the upper corner.

The inside of the card uses the same DP and matting as the front...on the first panel I used another horizontal of the wide ribbon and added 2 glitter hearts. On the second panel I added LOVE in resin buttons and a small heart charm with tiny bow.

AND because this image of Belle and Teddy was so much fun to color, I decorated a small canister to coordinate and filled it with chocolate truffles for some lucky person! Just leave a comment before noon EST on Monday, January 11 and it could be yours!!

Please check out all the sample cards posted by the Design team, and hopefully you will play along and post your own creation on the Friday Sketcher blog where you will find that Sunshine's Stamps is sponsoring a very nice prize this week!

Tilda with Bird, Matching Tote, and WINNERS!!

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope your life is going much better than mine these days!!! It is well in the low teens here in these temperate mountains and of all things, my heating system stopped working and they cannot replace it until next Saturday...can you imagine??? So I am keeping the gas fireplace at full steam ahead and have several small heaters so I am not freezing to death YET!!!!! But this will be a quick posting since my computer room is CHILLY!!!!!!!

I had long ago promised Suzan that I would make her a tote using her favorite Maggie, Tilda With Bird in Hand and made this card to go with her tote!! I used Bazzill for the base, PTI for all matting and the DP is all from the Creamotion Victorian Romance "Mixed" collection...I just love those papers, too!! All panels are machine stitched and are double matted with the red and navy CS. Added a bit of trim which is the same on the tote and colored Tilda with Copics, a touch of Spica, and a bit of Diamond Stickles on her wings.

This is the matching set:

And a better picture of the tote which is painted in thinned acrylics:

Hope you like it, Suzan!!!

A NEW Tilda for a NEW YEAR!!!!

A very Happy New Year and Happy January to all you Maggie Lovers!!!! I hope that 2010 brings each of you much happiness and many blessings!!

The January Challenge for the Magnolia-licious Design Team was selected by the very talented Sharon Caudle who also happens to be the Queen of ALL Chirpers!!! Sharon selected a design done by another of our DT members, Claudia Rosa, who is not only wonderfully talented but also is such a personal inspiration to me! You can find Claudia's design and tutorial HERE.

I used Bazzill for the base, SU for matting, and the DP is from the new BG Sugar Rush collection and PTI Bitty Dots Basics pad. The absolutely darling Tilda has not been released yet but I am sure you will see her very soon over at Magnolia-licious when she is released. She is colored with Copics, a bit of Diamond Stickles on her wings and Diamond Glaze on her little MaryJanes.

I followed Claudia's instructions for the center of my card but I preferred all of the dimension to be on the outside of my card rather than a protusion on the inside of the card. Therefore, I made the card base first and completed all machine stitching (lavender patterned paper). I then used a 6X6 of the pink dots and scored the 3 1/2" square in the center of it as well as the 3" square....thus my opening is actually 3 1/2 inches square. In order to make a finished frame, I also scored additional squares at 5 and at 5 1/2 inches, using Scor-tape to make the frame quite substantial and well-adhered to the base. This picture will perhaps give you a much better idea of how all of the dimension is on the outside of the card.

To make the scene inside the frame, I used a 3 1/2 square of Cryogen White and airbrushed the sky with Copics and added a tree from my stash, cut the grass blades from 2 shades of green and added the tiny roses to match those in Tilda's hand. To complete the front I added a lavender organza ribbon treatment, made the festoons with more tiny rose buds, and softened the corners with half pearls.

On the inside I used triple bows with enamel flower charms and a "thank you" charm, all tied on with silver cord. For the jotting spot I tied a small bouquet of the pink rosebuds from the front to emphasize those that Tilda is holding on the front of the card and finished the inside with smaller pearls.

Since this card design does make a rather thick card, I made a matching envelope-box for the presentation of the card...merely adding 2 sizes of pearls and making another rose bud bouquet tied with organza ribbon.

I made this coordinating tissue box using a plain old papier mache base and painted it with acrylic paint...I then added the ivory silk rose fabric and glued pearls to the middle of each of the roses. I then added all of the braiding and organza bow. For the top I just encircled the hole with pink roses and added pearls to the corners. I would love to know what you think!!

This set has already been claimed by a very special friend!!! Claudia, I hope you enjoy it!!!

Thank you so very much for dropping by and I hope you will join the DT during the month of January over at Magnolia-licious Highlites. I always appreciate hearing from you and if I have failed to explain anything completely, please drop me an email and I will answer you just as soon as possible. Again, come back real soon and until the next time...Maggie hugs!!!!!!

Happy New Year!! A Belles 'n Whistles Unveiling and some Sweet Stuff, Too!!!!!

A very Happy 2010 to everyone!!! I hope that there are many significantly wonderful surprises for you in the New Year!!

Today is the unveiling of the new group of Belles 'n Whistles stamps to start the new year off in such a precious way!! Summer is calling this the Sweet Things Collection and after you see them I know you will agree!!! They are absolutely darling and can be used in so many ways!! I hope you will visit the Belles 'n Whistles Blog to see what the marvelously talented design team has created to demonstrate this magnificent collection. Please visit Anki, Iris, Jodi, Kathrin, Lilian, Lynda , Rosette, and Susan to see their amazingly beautiful creations!!!!

For my card I used the cute, cute, cute CUPCAKE image and she is so sweet for sure!! The base is Bazzill, the matting is PTI and SU, and the DP is all from the new BG Sugar Rush collection. Belle is so much fun to color that you will see that I have colored her numerous times...smile. I merely added some unique ball fringe, a bouquet of periwinkle roses, and a cat charm to match the kitty at Belle's feet.

The inside is quite simple using the same papers and trim, a different kitty charm, and half pearls at the jotting spot.

To match the card, I made a gift box of spa surprises for a very special friend, which uses the same trims, etc as the card. The box contains bubble bath, lotion, cream, diffuser kit, body wash, etc...

AND, although I only had one box to decorate I certainly didn't want my fantastic visitors to feel left out so I made 3 quick spa gift bags (which contain the same items) for 3 lucky winners who not only leave a comment here but also comment on the Belles 'n Whistles Blog before Sunday, January 3 at Noon EST.

My sincere thanks to each of you who visit and I hope you will come back often!! I love reading your comments and hold each of you as a very special part of my papercrafting venture!! Remember to leave a comment here and on the BnW blog!! My fondest best wishes to each of you for a spectacular 2010. Big hugs!!!
